Duyun: China PR and Japan will continue their 2017 AFC U-19 Women’s Championship preparations, while Iran will meet the United States for just the second time in women’s youth international football in a round-robin tournament next month.

China PR – also the destination of October’s AFC U-19 Women’s Championship in Nanjing – will play host to the CFA International Women’s Youth Football Tournament, with all matches to be held at the Qiannan Fitness Centre Stadium in Duyun.

The tournament kicks off on September 10 with Japan taking on the United States before China PR meet IR Iran, and finishes on September 14 with a clash between China PR and Japan.

Earlier that day, IR Iran and the United States will meet for only the second time in women’s youth football, with their previous contact coming in their April 2016 meeting at U-16 level, which the USA won 6-0.

Japan are the most successful side in AFC Women’s U-19 Championship history, having won the tournament four times in eight attempts, while China PR claimed their sole title in Malaysia in 2006.

IR Iran qualified for the continental U-19 Finals for the first time in 2015, while the United States have been crowned World Champions on three occasions at U-20 level, most recently in 2012.

The 2017 AFC U-19 Women’s Championship begins on October 15, with China PR drawn alongside DPR Korea, Thailand and Uzbekistan in Group A, while Japan will meet Korea Republic, Australia and Vietnam in Group B.
