Hisor: Tajikistan saved their best for last as they beat previously perfect Uzbekistan 1-0 at the Hisor Central Stadium on Wednesday to seal top in Group B and an automatic slot in the AFC U-19 Championship 2018.

Tajikistan went into the match knowing only a win would gain them automatic qualification while Uzbekistan, who had a record of three wins, only needed a draw,

Playing before their fans, Tajikistan gave the match their all and it was an exciting contest.

After an even first half which yielded no goals, Tajikistan upped the tempo when the match resumed after the break.

Their efforts were rewarded in the 53rd minute as their relentless pressure saw Saitov Dilshod turning the ball into his own net.

That was enough to seal Tajikistan a place alongside Asia's best in the Finals in Indonesia next October.

Earlier, Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka 4-0 to register their second win in a match neither team had hope of qualifying from.

Bangladesh went in front after 13 minutes through Bishwanath Ghosh and Riyadul Hasan doubled their advantage with a 33rd minute strike.

Mahabub Hossain Roksy's men went on to score two more goals in the first half for a 4-0 scoreline.

Mahbubur Rahman's double in the 38th and 46th minutes was too much for Sri Lanka to take as they could not find a way through Bangladesh in the second half.
