Wuhan City: DPR Korea made it two wins out of two in Group I of the AFC U-16 Championship 2014 qualifiers as Jong Chang-bom, Kim Ye-bom and Yon Jun-hyok all scored four times in an 18-0 hammering of the Northern Mariana Islands on Friday.

Jong, who struck twice as the North Koreans began their campaign to reach next year’s finals in Thailand with a 3-0 defeat of Myanmar, set the ball rolling with the opening goal with just three minutes at the Hankou Culture and Sports Stadium played.

The Northern Mariana Islands barely had time to regroup after conceding the first goal when they were picking the ball out of the back three more times before the clock reached the ten minute mark with Kim (4th and 10th) and skipper Han Kwang-song (6th) on target for the East Asians.

Kim became the first player to get his hat-trick when he made it 8-0 in the 28th minute after additional goals from Jong (20th), Yon (24th) and O Chung-guk (26th).

Yon was next to complete the individual treble when he netted in the 45th minute and again two minutes into first-half stoppage-time to make it 10-0 to DPR Korea and condemn the Northern Mariana Islands to their second double-digit defeat following their 14-0 loss to China in their opening match.

There was to be no let up the second half with Kim netting his fourth six minutes after the interval and he was soon followed by Jong (55th and 67th) and Yon (69th) as quadruple scorers.

O scored his second in the 72nd minute and defender Choe Jin-nam also bagged a brace with two goals in the space of a minute (75th and 76th) before being replaced 60 seconds later by Kim Jin-hyok, who rounded off the rout three minutes into stoppage-time with the final goal.
