Kuala Terengganu: Seventeen referees are now undergoing a seminar ahead of their assignment at the AFC Beach Soccer Championship Malaysia 2017 which commences on Saturday.

Organised by the AFC Referees Department, the four-day course included practical and theoretical sessions and aimed to update the referees with the latest information and interpretation of the Beach Soccer Laws of the Game.

The referees went through rigorous fitness tests, video quizzes and classroom sessions on a variety of topics such as the four-second rule on the pitch, tackling and disciplinary actions, positioning and movement. Another objective of the seminar was to assess potential referees for the upcoming FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Bahamas 2017.

The 2017 AFC Beach Soccer Championship will open with a Group A clash between China PR and Bahrain and will conclude on March 11. The top three finishers will represent Asia at Bahamas 2017.
