Amman: Jordan and Kuwait played out an entertaining 2-2 draw on Friday ahead of their appearances in the 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 AFC Asian Cup Preliminary Joint Qualification Round Two.

Jordan drew first blood when a cross from Abdallah Deeb was headed home by Hassan Abdel Fattah as early as five minutes into the game.

Deeb was to play a pivotal role yet again as his 18th minute free kick was guided into the net by Anas Bani Yaseen to double the Jordanians’ advantage.

Kuwait’s Abdullah Al Buraiki could have reduced the deficit but for a missed penalty on the 45th minute mark.

Kuwait did. however get themselves back into contention thanks to an own goal from Jordan’s Hamza Al Dardour with 70 minutes on the clock.

The comeback was complete ten minutes later when Mesaed Neda Al Enezi converted a corner to level matters.

Jordan will play their opening joint qualifying round Group B match against Tajikistan in Dushanbe on June 11, while Kuwait travel to Lebanon for a Group G clash on the same day.
