Yichang: Twenty coaches began the AFC Futsal Level 1 Coaching Certificate Course in Yichang, China on Saturday.

AFC Futsal Instructor Wang Wei, who gave the opening remarks, thanked the Chinese Football Association (CFA) for the futsal development research centre, and the continuous support from China Three Gorges University and Yichang Qi Yi Culture Communication Co. Ltd, that has helped improved the quality of futsal in the city.

Throughout the six-day course, the participants will go through a series of theoretical sessions, with the aim to educate and develop potential futsal coaches. The coaches were equipped with the basic futsal knowledge, as well as techniques and tactics, and protocols on conducting a proper futsal training session. Group discussions were also held to improve their presentation and communications skills. Potential coaches will be identified to progress to the Level 2 courses in the future.

Professor Xia Qing, the Director of CFA Futsal Development Research Centre, also said: “Futsal has shown strides of progress, especially with the conception of the national U-20 men’s and women’s futsal teams.

“I hope that all the participants present a solid attitude, and master the professional knowledge of futsal which would certainly thrust the development of CFA Futsal in the future.”
