Kuala Lumpur: AFC General Secretary Dato’ Alex Soosay has emphasised the importance of  the Member Associations' participation in the FIFA Transfer Matching System which fosters efficient and transparent global player transfers.

A two-day FIFA Transfer Matching System (FIFA TMS) Conference 2013 was concluded at AFC House in the Malaysian capital on Thursday.

MA representatives attended the conference to learn about the system, changes to the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, gain awareness on minor players’ rights and give feedback on the use of the system.

“On behalf of the AFC President and Executive Committee, I’d like to express our appreciation to FIFA TMS and representatives of the MAs who attended the conference today and yesterday,” said Dato’ Alex (pictured) while closing the conference.

“I’m also very happy that you’ve had successful and fruitful panel discussions and group work during the conference. I hope the learning does not stop here, in fact, I hope you’ll continue learning and share what you have learnt with your colleagues back home.

“It’s also important that you implement what you’ve learned and keep the networking among each other, the Member Associations, and also with FIFA TMS. Also, the AFC Competitions and Legal Committees and Departments are always here to help you the MAs.

“I’d also like to emphasise that your participation in the FIFA Transfer Matching System Conference and also in the system itself is important because it helps make the process of player transfers smooth and transparent.

“And our thanks also go to FIFA TMS for the sharing of knowledge and experience.”
