TOKYO - Urawa Reds forward Tatsuya Tanaka and Vissel Kobe forward/midfielder Yoshito Okubo have been recalled by Japan for an international friendly against Cameroon next Wednesday in Oita.
Having named a preliminary squad of 12 players last week, Japan coach Ivica Osim added an additional six players to the squad announced by the Japan Football Association on Saturday night.
Okubo, who formerly played for Spanish side Majorca, was called up for the first time by Osim, while Tanaka returns for the first time since playing in an AFC Asian Cup qualifier in Yemen last September.
Joining them in the squad are Yokohama F.Marinos midfielder Koji Yamase, Oita Trinita forward Daiki Takamatsu, Jubilo Iwata forward Ryoichi Maeda and Sanfrecce Hiroshima forward Hisato Sato.
