KATHMANDU: Nepal's Three Star Club managed to hold ten-time Chinese Taipei champions Taiwan Power Company to a 1-1 draw in their inaugural Group A match of the AFC President's Cup here at the Dashrath Stadium on Wednesday.
The visitors went ahead in the 36th minute, thanks to midfielder Chen Chi-Feng but two minutes later midfielder Pradeep Maharjan restored parity for the hosts.
Both the sides mounted several attacks in search for a winner but in vain. Looking desperate for a victory in front of the cheering home crowd, the Nepal national champions resorted to rough play, resulting in a red card to Pralaya Raj Bhandari in the 84th minute.
In another match of the day, Tajikistan's Regar TadAZ routed Bhutanese club Transport United 6-1.
Kyrgyzstan's Dordoi-Dynamo will face Cambodian club Hello United, while Pakistan's WAPDA will take on Sri Lanka's Blue Star SC on Thursday.
