BIRMINGHAM: Midfielder Kim Do-heon is likely to miss Korea Republic’s 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier against United Arab Emirates on October 15 because of a knee injury.
The West Bromwich Albion player may also be out for Korea’s Group B away match against Saudi Arabia on November 19, according to his club manager Tony Mowbray.
“Kim needs to go and get a scan,” Mowbray said on the club website. “The doctor is saying it is at least a medial knee ligament problem."
“We’ll wait and see what the scan says and hope it is only medial ligament damage to keep him out for six weeks, and that it’s not any worse than that.”
Kim has scored 11 goals in 52 matches for the Korea Republic and played an influential role in the national team’s 1-1 draw with DPR Korea in their opening qualifier in Shanghai on September 10.
