| Home close in on S.League leaders |
SINGAPORE – Home United moved to within one point of S-League leaders and fellow AFC Cup 2008 quarter-finalists Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) with a slender 1-0 win over bottom-of-the-table Balestier Khalsa on Tuesday.
In form striker Kengne Ludovick scored the only goal of the game against his former employers four minutes from the interval to take his tally for the season to 18, one shy of the leading mark set by SAF’s Aleksandar Duric.
Home’s victory, their 16th of the ongoing campaign, put the Protectors on 50 points, one less than the Warriors and three more than the Super Reds who have a game on hand over the top two but have a significantly weaker goal difference than P.N. Sivaji’s second-placed side.
