SINGAPORE – AFC Cup quarter-finalists Home United went second in the 2008 S-League standings on goal difference after Shi Jiyai’s first-half strike gave them a 1-0 win over Woodlands Wellington.
The China-born Singapore international scored the only goal of the game with a long-range effort 17 minutes into the round 19 clash at Bishan.
The victory lifted the Protectors points tally to 44 points, three behind league leaders and fellow AFC Cup quarter-finalists Singapore Armed Forces, who have played a game less than Home United and the Super Reds, who dropped to third in the table on goal difference.
