MUSCAT – Al Nahda coach Hamad Al Azzani, who took temporary charge of Oman following the dismissal of Julio Cesar Ribas, will remain with the national team setup as assistant to head coach Claude Le Roy.
“I am happy to be selected for the national team job and it’s an honour to be part of the coaching team,” said the 38-year-old, who led Oman on a three-match unbeaten run after replacing the Uruguayan in early June.
Al Azzani, who also took temporary charge of Oman in the wake of Srecko Juricic’s dismissal in 2006, guided Al Nahda to the quarter-finals of the 2008 AFC Cup, where the former Omani league champions will face high-flying S-League side Singapore Armed Forces.
