| Okayama double downs Balestier |
SINGAPORE – Tetsuya Okyama struck twice in the first-half as Albirex Niigata defeated struggling Balestier Khalsa in their round 19 S-League clash on Monday.
Balestier were reduced to ten men in the 27th minute when Farhan Musbah picked up his second yellow card of the match having already been booked in the ninth minute and Albirex soon made their numerical superiority count when Okyama bagged the first of his brace seven minutes after the young defender was dismissed.
Okyama got his second on the stroke of half-time as the J.League side’s satellite team sealed their fifth win of the campaign, taking their tally to 20 points an insurmountable 27 behind leaders and AFC Cup 2008 quarter-finalists Singapore Armed Forces.
