| Home United have vowed to attack in their AFC Cup quarter-final 2nd leg match against Dempo. |
SINGAPORE – Home United handed fellow AFC Cup 2008 quarter-finalists Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) a boost in their S-League title challenge when they defeated second-placed Super Reds 1-0 on Wednesday.
Brazilian striker Peres de Oliveira scored the only goal of the game just seven minutes into the match at Yishun before the 2003 S-League Player of the Year picked up his second booking of the night midway through the second-half leaving Home United to play out the last half-hour of the match with just ten men.
However, the Koreans couldn’t make their numerical advantage count and Home held on for the victory that left the Super Reds on 41 points, three behind SAF who have played on game less.
The Protectors are also by no means out of the title race and sit third in the 2008 S-League standings on 38 points.
