| Stage set for President’s Cup draw |
KUALA LUMPUR – The criteria for the 2008 AFC President’s Cup draw has been set, with the four qualifying teams learning their semi-final fate at AFC House on Monday.
The four qualifying teams (defending champions Dordoi Dynamo; inaugural winners Regar Tadaz; Ashgabat from Turkmenistan; and Nepal Police Club) will be placed in a pot marked clubs, with a separate match pot containing semi-final one and semi-final two.
One team will be drawn from the club pot and will be placed in either semi-final one or two depending on what drawn from the match pot.
The first club drawn for each semi-final will be placed in Position A of that semi-final.
After each club has been placed in a semi-final spot a second draw will take place to determine which of the semi-final winners will be in position A or B, determining who gets to select choice of kit.
The AFC President’s Cup draw will take place at 1400 in AFC House, while the finals for the tournament will be held from September 19 to 21 in Kyrgyzstan.
