BISHKEK – AFC President’s Cup holders Dordoi Dynamo were held to a shock goalless draw by lowly Kant-77 in the final round of matches before the league breaks for the Kyrgyzstan Cup.
The reigning league champions were not expected to be too troubled by Kant 77, a side they defeated 8-0 over two legs in the quarter-finals of the Kyrgyzstan Cup, but Dordoi were unable to pick up all three points in a game that saw William Gyan’s 76th minute effort ruled out for offside.
The draw enabled Abdysh-Ata to go top of the standings after the Kyrgyzstan Cup holders defeated Sher 3-0 at home, taking their tally to 22 points, two clear of Dordoi.
Hurshid Lutfullaev put Abdysh-Ata one-up six minutes from the interval before Almaz Mirzaliev doubled the home side’s advantage in the 65th minute.
With 12 minutes of the match remaining Lutfullaev netted the third from the penalty spot to seal the win and move top of the 2008 Kyrgyzstan league leading goal scorer list with his eighth of the season.
