KUALA LUMPUR – Cao Xiadong will arrive for the AFC Project Future course in time for the second of the five-day programme having missed Monday’s sessions due to his commitments with the China women’s team.
Cao jetted in to Kuala Lumpur on Monday night following the conclusion of the 2008 AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Vietnam, where the 33-year-old was on the coaching staff of runners-up China.
China, the defending champions lost the ladies football crown to DPR Korea after the Steel Roses went down 2-1 to their East Asian rivals on Sunday.
Cao, who was selected to be part of the AFC Project Future programme after obtaining his ‘C’ coaching certificate at the AFC U-13 Festival of Football in Beijing back in April 2007, holds a PhD from the China Institute of Sports Science and had a spell working with 2007 Chinese Super League champions Changchun Yatai.
