DAMASCUS/BEIRUT: The Syrian League’s last three rounds have been postponed until after the national team’s 2010 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers.
AFC Champions League side Al Karama were crowned champions for the third consecutive time last week though the race for second spot is still on with four teams in the mix.
Syria host Kuwait on June 2 at the Al Abbasiyyin Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese League has been indefinitely postponed with two more rounds to be played due to the volatile political situation in the country.
The title race is set to go down to the wire when the league resumes as Al Ansar, who are in contention for a place in the knockout stage of the AFC Cup 2008, are currently on top of the standings on 47 points, followed by Al Nejmeh, who are three adrift, and Al Ahed, a further point back.
