MUSCAT: AFC Cup side Sur lost to Dhofar 2-0 in the Oman League’s last-but-one round on Sunday evening.
Sur, who play Dempo SC of India in the final AFC Cup group game on May 14 and are battling to avoid the wooden spoon in the pool, were done in by first-half goals from Thakir Eid in the 30th minute and Hussein Al Hadhri in the 42nd minute.
Ahmed Al Ekhdar’s charges slipped to sixth in the 12-team standings with 28 points while Dhofar are second on 37 points, five behind already-crowned champions Al Oruba.
