MUSCAT – Oman recorded their second friendly win in the space of three days with a 2-0 victory over Kyrgyzstan on Sunday as the Gulf Sultanate continues their preparations for the next round of 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
Oman, 1-0 winners over Liberia on Thursday, took the lead against Kyrgyzstan on the stroke of half-time courtesy of defender Ibrahim Al Mukhaini, who plays his club football for 2008 AFC Cup Group A strugglers Sur.
With 20 minutes remaining Al Oruba midfielder Younis Mubarak sealed the victory for the Omanis, who will be looking to make it a hat-trick of friendly wins at the ROP Stadium when they entertain neighbours Yemen on Saturday.
