DAMASCUS - Nadeem Al Magsoosi’s 18th minute strike against the UAE was enough to take Iraq through to the AFC U-19 Championship as the qualification campaign came to an end on Wednesday.
The UAE’s defeat at the Al Abasiyyin Stadium in the Syrian capital meant nothing to the Gulf side as they had already been assured of qualification as Group A winners.
Jordan, who finished behind Group D table-toppers Uzbekistan and runners-up Yemen, also qualified to finals in Saudi Arabia as their best third-place team.
