Manila: The Philippines Football Federation (PFF) are hosting the AFC ‘A’ Coaching Certificate Course (Part 1) that began on June 14.

In cooperation with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), 24 coaches from the Philippines have joined four coaches from Australia, Belgium, Hong Kong and Korea Republic for the 14-day course.

The coaches will undergo theoretical and practical sessions led by AFC instructors Jose Ariston Caslib and Marlon Maro during the course.

This marks the first ‘A’ coaching course to be held in the Philippines under the new AFC Coaching Convention Guidelines.

The AFC ‘B’ Coaching Certificate Course which concluded recently in Canlubang, Laguna (June 2-11), featured former national player and current Philippine Boys U-15 head coach Emilio Caligdong.

More than 30 participants also took part in the AFC ‘C’ Coaching Certificate Course held in May in Manila and Cagayan de Oro.

PFF General Secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes said: “We are delighted with the progress of our coaches. We congratulate them as they continue in their bid to being full-fledged football coaches.

“Our licensed coaching pool has continued to increase over the past few years and it just shows the continuous progress of football in the country.”
