Kuala Lumpur: Shaikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President, has sent his condolences to Football Association of Malaysia President HRH Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim after hearing of the death of former Johor Football Association deputy president and state football team manager Datuk Suleiman Mohd Noor.

The AFC President extended his condolences to the family of Suleiman, 88, who died on Monday after his health deteriorated following a heart attack during Ramadan.

He was known as the father of Johor football as he oversaw the state team’s successes in the 1980s and 1990s.

Suleiman was the team manager when Johor won the Malaysia Cup and League Cup in 1991. He was also the Johor State Secretary in the late 1980s.
