Kuala Lumpur: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has sent his condolences to Korea Football Association President Chung Mong-Gyu on the news of the sudden passing of Cho Jin-ho – Head Coach of Busan I’Park Football Club.

The AFC President extended his deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the former Korea Republic international who passed away on Tuesday following a cardiac attack.

Cho was one of the country’s brightest stars in the early nineties and was the youngest player to feature for Korea Republic during the FIFA World Cup USA 1994. He also represented his nation in the 1994 Asian Games in Hiroshima, Japan, before ending his international playing career with 13 caps and two goals.

The former midfielder then turned coach in 2003, managing clubs such as Jeonnam Dragons, Daejeon Citizen and FC Sangju Sangmu before taking over at Busan this year, where he led the club to second place in this season’s K League Challenge with seven games remaining.
